This old oil heating tank in the basment would sometimes leak fumes into the house and blocked visibility of what might be happening to the basment wall (such as any moement). If you shone a torch down into the area it occupies you would also get a series of tiny reflections back from the eyes of all the spiders inte area beyond. It had not been used in decades so I started making plans to budget for the specialist removal.
